L’artiste franco-marocaine Mouna Saboni est née à Rennes en 1987. Après un master d’Économie Sociale et Solidaire à l’université, elle intègre l’École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles dont elle sort diplômée en 2012. Le travail photographique de Mouna Saboni porte sur la quête de l’identité qu’elle interroge à travers une mémoire personnelle intimement liée au territoire.
À travers des projets au long cours menés dans les territoires palestiniens, au Maroc ou encore au Brésil elle interroge son propre rapport aux territoires sur lesquels elle évolue et celui des individus à leur environnement.
Mouna Saboni a déjà exposé son travail au Mexique, aux Pays-bas, en Chine et au Japon. Elle a participé en 2012 et 2014 aux Rencontres photographiques d’Arles. En 2012, son travail est entré dans la collection de la fondation d’entreprise Neuflize Vie pour la photographie. Elle a obtenu la bourse photographique de la Fondation Jean-Luc Lagardère, en 2020.
The Franco-Moroccan artist Mouna Saboni was born in Rennes in 1987. After a master’s degree in Social and Solidarity Economics at the university, she joined the National School of Photography in Arles from which she graduated in 2012. Mouna Saboni’s photographic work focuses on the quest for identity, which she questions a personal memory, intimately linked to the territory.Through long-term projects carried out in the Palestinian territories, in Morocco or in or in Brazil, she questions her own relationship to the territories on which she evolves and the one of individuals to their environment.
Mouna Saboni has already exhibited her work in Mexico, the Netherland, China and Japan. In 2012 and 2014, she participated in the international Meetings of Photography of Arles. In 2012, her work was included in the collection of the Neuflize Vie Foundation for Photography. She was awarded by the Jean-Luc Lagardère Foundation photographic an award granted in 2020.
« L’attente de la nuit » est un projet réalisé en mars 2022. autour de la question de la Palestine. «L’attente de la nuit» est un poème en prose, un chant, une lettre écrite par un amant à un amour qui semble absent et lointain. Le texte, embossé dans l’image, vient recomposé les montagnes palestiniennes qui semblent disparaitre dans la brume et se refléter dans l’eau tel un mirage.
«Palestine and Jerusalem, a symbol of loss and longing that become a part of DNA of a homeless people, is evocated in Mouna Saboni’s ode to Palestinian memory. The text based work reminds us how to written word can create an imagined paradise that becomes more real than lived reality.»
